Congratulations Leonnie, I nearly voted for you, but was stirred by the green hills (pic no 3?).

Excellent picture though  Smiley

Well done Leonnie Grin  I thought your photo would run away with the vote so I voted for the monkey taking a piggy back ride which I thought was really well captured Cheesy  Whose was it by the way Undecided

BTW I didn't enter this month as I did not have a suitable photo......just as well judging by the standard of photography Wink Grin

Well captured pic of the bee.  I am impressed by your camera as well and all the other pics in your gallery.  My picture was the view of the Grey Mares Tail Nr Moffat. No. 3.   The rain had just started and by the time I reached my car I was soaked.....

I agree it was a great pic. As soon as I saw it I loved it. I remember one year we grew some lavatera and the bees were getting covered in pink pollen. well done

Hi Dan and Palustris.   Anderton was called in to design 4 such lifts in Belgium for the Canal du Centre.  They've been superceded now by a huge monster which does all 85 metres in one go for the big boats that roam European canals but the old hydraulic lifts can still be navigated by tourist boats.  There's a not for profit organisation that organises tours of the two middle ones and the machine room.   Brilliant.  They're fabulous and have become a world heritage site.  There's also a diagonal boat lift nearby that's worth seeing should you ever stray over to Belgium.
